Secretary for the Committee – Centum Apartments

Over my 8-9 years with the Committee, I have experienced quite a variety of support and service delivery efforts from the various strata managers. When Viduni started her role in her current company it was in a support role. I observed her work and work ethics. As her experience grew, she demonstrated her capability to uptake higher level responsibilities. If I asked her for information or guidance in an area outside her role, she up took the “challenge” and sourced information to provide me and the Committee with a response. In her time of upward climb she has always conducted herself in a professional and ethical manner. I have witnessed her calmness in the eyes of many storms!!!

Viduni has spread her wings and is now Company Secretary in extremely complex, legally challenging and troubled times within the building industry. She has guided and supported the complex building manager and the Committee with strong organisation of strategy, communication with the various legal, building, accreditation and legal compliance bodies. Further, Viduni has projected her thinking forward in the current situations impacting on owners due to circumstances facing those that fall within her parameters of responsibility and duty of care. She has developed various strategies for different scenarios, ready to implement as events unfold.

In the time I have worked with Viduni, she has been a pleasure to work with, her level of professionalism and attention to detail ensures the owners interests are looked after in all areas.

Viduni has a personality that is respectful and helpful and many owners have commented to me how pleasant and helpful she is to deal with and often she is the face of the building as any and all things are directed via Viduni who has the skill to farm them to the correct person

Viduni will constantly be pro active in presentation of reports and documents personally to me as chair to ensure the Owners Corporation are fully informed that help the committee to make informed decisions. Viduni lead her team personally in a period of a year to personally reduce significant funds owed in levies to the Owners Corporation and her work in this are was exemplary and the results made a significant difference to the Owners Corporation.

Cladding Audit Project – City Operations

In 2015, the Victorian Building Authority commenced an investigation into a number of CBD buildings with identified Aluminium Composite Panelling. As a result of this ongoing audit, I have corresponded extensively with Viduni Fernando in a lengthy compliance process. A high level of excellence is displayed in Viduni’s work ethic, and her professional approach is courageous in the way of earnestly seeking support and guidance when direction is unclear.

Viduni’s tremendous level of assistance and consistent reliability in minimising delay has proved formidable in the progress of Council’s Cladding Audit. Her drive and leadership are an asset to any Owners Corporation. In a role that requires high levels of attentiveness, it’s easy to see that Viduni’s professional approach aligns with her own moral compass in providing the most empathetic and beneficial support where necessary.
